All I Really Need To Know I Learned In Kindergarten

This piece is a musical is based on a series of monologues, originally written by Robert Fulgham, here adapted and conceived as a musical by Ernest Zulia. They idea is that the first impressions we get of the important issues in life, love, hope , death, disability, fairness etc, these impressions are the ones that stay with us. Ah the wisdom of youth if we just remember.  Some of the material is sad and deals with some tragic circumstances by who has had a perfect childhood. I don’t feel this really works as a musical though there are a few good songs. I thought of SPOON RIVER ANTHOLOGY, YOU’RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN, to name two pieces which worked better when reworked as theatre. The acting and direction were only adequate but it’s really the material which let them down.
